3 weeks ago the river behind our house was frozen from bank to bank but not strong enough to walk on. Only our ducks could walk on it safely. Now the temperature is in the 40s and all the ice is gone.

The ice on the river reminded me of Page 209 in the book I wrote about my childhood. Hope you enjoy reading it.

Our winters at Edwight were just like a Winter Wonderland. They were very cold, and for the most part of the Winter there was snow on the ground. Sometimes when it would snow it just stayed on the ground until the next snow came. Making it deeper and deeper. It was a beautiful time of the year.

The temperature wa so low that the river was frozen over sold for a couple of weeks at a time. All the kinds looked forward to that time, as they loved to ice skate on the frozen river.
