CHARLESTON - Thomas “Tommy” Kirk, 50, of Charleston, formerly of Ashford, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at CAMC General Hospital after a short illness.

He was a coalminer who was disabled and retired from Long Branch Energy.

He formerly attended Rumble Community Baptist Church and was a graduate of Sherman High School.

Tommy loved hunting, fishing and riding his four-wheeler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mildred Kirk, and brothers, David and Bobby.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa of Peytona; daughters, Vanessa of Peytona and Crystal and Amanda of Hernshaw; sister, Martha (Dwayne) Gordon of Michigan; brothers, Daniel of Ashford, Samuel (Janet) of Ashford, James (Kay) of Hernshaw, Timmy of Chesapeake and Johnny of Ashford; and three grandchildren.

Funeral service was April 21, at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet, with the Rev. Richard Harold officiating. Burial followed in Holstein Cemetery, Dartmont.
