Van dogs defeat Sherman tide

WHARTON - The dogs powerhouse hitting helped give them another victory over a county opponent.

Sherman got off to a good start with an RBI double by Brandon Treadway and a two run homer by Michael Kirk but they couldn’t hold off the dogs.

In the 3rd inning, Sherman’s Brandon Treadway added an RBI double but Van fought back with Matt Slone and Jason Hoosier each doubling. Jonathon Simms and Loren Harshbarger singled also with Nick Green hitting a 3 run homer.

Van continued to dominate the game. Jason Hoosier hit a solo homer with Nick Green, Scott Branham and Corey Castle each singling.

The bulldogs continue to pound the Tide with hit after hit. Matt Slone drove in 2 more runs with a double with Jason Hoosier singled to bring in another RBI.

The tide scored again in the 5th inning. Andrew Lowe and Michael Kirk each walked. Dustin Trail then hit a double bringing in Lowe and Kirk for two RBI’s.

Nathanial Halstead threw an effective 6th inning giving Sherman a bright spot in the game. He allowed no more runs for the dogs.

The final score, Van 13, Sherman 6.
