He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Todd Nearhood.
He was a retired truck driver, an Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the VFW Daniel Boone Post 5578 and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Jean Nearhood of Danville.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, with Melvin Messer officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Danville. There will be military graveside rites by VFW Daniel Boone Post 5578, Madison.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
