James Thomas Bane, 69, died May 21, 2007, at his home on Joe's Creek in Comfort after a long illness.

Tommy was born at Seth to the late Marshall and Ethel Hudson Bane on Oct. 2, 1937.

He was a lifetime member of the 82nd Airborne Association and the Disabled American Veterans. He was also a member of the VFW at large.

Also preceding him in death were sisters, Nancy Winnistaffer of Columbus, Ohio, Christine Henry of Barnhart, Mo.; brothers, Kenneth and Delmar Bane of Seth and Carl R. Bane of Selegiman, Ariz.

Surviving are son, Micheal; sister, Jewell Bradley of Chelyan; longtime companion, Emogene Thompson of Ridgeview; and numerous nieces and nephews.

James would like to extend special thanks to the family of John Hudson for providing him with a home.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home Marmet, with the Rev. Greg Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in Green Cemetery, Winifrede, where military graveside rites will be conducted by Gauley Bridge VFW Post 8366. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at the funeral home.
