I hope everyone has enjoyed the much cooler weather we have been having.

Visiting the Nellis area recently were H. L. Baldwin and his family from Oakland, Neb. Baldwin grew up in the Nellis area and continues to keep in touch with relatives and friends in Boone County.

While he was here he presented a check in the amount of $500 to the Nellis Beautification Association and Nellis Elementary School. Martha Tackett and Anita Perdue accepted the check.

Several years ago, Baldwin donated money to Nellis Elementary School for wall mats in the gym in memory of his parents, Otto and Mary Baldwin.

He has been one of the top donors to the Historic Nellis Church/Archives from the time renovation began on the project. We in the community of Nellis extend our thanks and gratitude to the Baldwin family for its continued interest and support.
