Thomas D. Webb
Thomas D. Webb, 64, of Naoma, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston. He was born November 22, 1943, at Edwight, a son of the late Quincy “Dude” and Ruth Ash Webb. Mr. Webb was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired coal miner and was known and loved by all the children in the community as “PawPaw”. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Susie Morris Webb; and a nephew, Scott Webb. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Martha Webb; two loving daughters, Pam Webb and Peggy Webb Peaytt, who reside at home with him. The most important things in his life were his grandsons, whom he helped raise, Cheney, 27, Tommy, 22, Jacob, 10, at home, Curtis, 20, who is serving his country in Iraq; and his great-grandson, Trevor; two brothers, James “Buddy” Webb and his wife Peggy of Grafton, Ohio, and Ted Webb of Naoma; a sister, Nancy Lares and her husband Russell of Dry Creek; life-long friend Forrest Cook and his wife Etta Lou of Naoma; several nieces and nephews; a host of friends; six stepchildren, Goldie and her husband Jerry Jarrell, Ernest Lee and Carl Peaytt, all of Whitesville, Clark Peaytt and his wife Angie of Manassas, Va., and Gene Peaytt and his wife Terry of Evans, Ga.; 13 step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
The service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, with the Rev. David Cook officiating. Interment was in the Webb Family Cemetery, Naoma. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, is in charge of arrangements.
