Born on January 20, 1932 in a small coal mining town of Dorothy, WVA. He graduated from Sherman High School in Seth, WVA. In 1949. He was in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict where he was stationed in Japan. He attended the University of Alabama. He also attended the Central Technical Institute in Missouri which prepared him to work at Chicago Helicopter at Meigs Field. He then worked at AC Allen Company and then Ernst & Company as a stockbroker for over 35 years. In his free time he loved to spend time with his family who loved him dearly. He also served on the board of the Westmont Public Library and was involved in the planning for the present library located on Cass Avenue. He also served as a recruiter for the cub scouts pack 6 trying to encourage young boys to get involved and to learn valuable life lessons by joining the scouts. He died peacefully on Thursday April 24th with his family at his side after a long illness. He leaves behind his wife of over 51 years (Pat), His 3 sisters (Peggy, Ginger, and Shirley), 4 brother-in-laws (Gary, John, Charlie, Tex), His 2 sister-in-laws (Carroll and Sue), His five children (Deena, Cindy, Jason, Brian and Bradley), son-in-laws (Bill and Bud), daughter-in law (Mindy) 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Dad (Melvo), Mom (Arba), and sister (Nancy). He will be cremated and laid to rest at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. There was a memorial service for him at the West Hills Community Church in Westmont, IL. on Thursday May 1st, 2008.
