Drexil L. Dunlap, 78, of Nellis, Boone County, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 27, 2008, with family and friends by her side after an extended illness. Born Dec. 9, 1929, at Fork Creek, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Annie Pauley Barker. Mrs. Dunlap was also preceded in death by brothers, Quincy, Eugene and Windal Barker; sisters, Thelma Davis and Elladean Burns. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Dunlap of Nellis; sons, Shawn Lafferty of Nellis, Russell Lafferty of Burlingame, Calif.; brother, Harold Barker of Ridgeview; sisters, Bessie Dillon of Nellis, Bertha Mae May of Hamlin; 18 nephews and 16 nieces. Funeral service was Sunday, June 1, at Stevens Funeral Home, Madison, with Jimmy Johnson and Pete Thompson officiating. Burial followed at Orchard Hill Memory Gardens near Yawkey.
