Born July 6, 1906, Edna Payne has survived many siblings, family members and friends over the years as she recently celebrated her 102nd birthday in Comfort, W.Va.

Born at Gabe Creek to Bertha and Lewis Canterbury, Edna was one of eight children.

She married Othel Payne on Christmas day, 1925 and moved to Cabot, near Prenter, where the couple resided for many years.

Together, they had ten children, Ella, William, Donald, Helen, David, Shirley., Othel Jr., Roger, Barbara, and Larry.

Today, Edna is surrounded by a large family, including 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

In 1995, Edna moved to Joe’s Creek, in Comfort, and dedicated her life to the Lord at Healing Stream Baptist Church.
