Zag “Donald” Lovejoy, 60, of Spurlockville passed away July 18, 2008.

He was a retired coalminer with 23 years of service at Hobet Mining and a member of the UMWA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Sarah Roberts Lovejoy; brother, Ward Lovejoy; and sisters, Rabel and Doshel Lovejoy. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; daughters and a son-in-law, Pamela Kay Lovejoy of Spurlockville and Shari and Ronnie Ellis of Julian; son and his wife, Craig Allen and Shadora Lovejoy of Spurlockville; sisters, Ida Mae Bias of Peytona, Ruby Lovejoy of South Charleston, Betty Hager of Peytona, Lilly Bias of Turtle Creek and Cora Miller of Griffithsville; brothers, Ronnie Lovejoy of Spurlockville, Lawrence Lovejoy of Culloden, Lonnie Lovejoy of Alkol, David Lovejoy of Palermo, James Taylor Lovejoy of Spurlockville and Michael Lovejoy of Palermo; and three granddaughters, Brittany, Sara and Catherine. Funeral service was Monday, July 21, at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, with Lonnie Lovejoy officiating. Burial followed in Stanley Cemetery, Mud River.
