Sympathy to the family of Caleb Mullins, of Joe’s Creek, who passed away Sept. 23 as a result of a four-wheeler accident. He was 20.

Bethany Shope wants to share her favorite muffin recipe with us this week. Here it is:

APPLESAUCE MUFFINS

2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 egg, lightly beaten

1 cup unsweetened applesauce

1 stick butter, melted

Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease or line with paper cupcake liners a 12-cup muffing pan. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in medium bowl. Whisk to blend. Add egg, applesauce and melted butter. Stir until just blended. Spoon into prepared pan. Bake 18-20 minutes. Cool five minutes. Makes 12 muffins.

Ron Barrick, of Ridgeview, is doing well after having surgery two weeks ago.

Laney Beth Williams came through her surgery for a rare congenital heart defect with flying colors on Oct. 1 in Boston. Everything went remarkably well for 10-month old Laney. However, she will be spending a few more days there. Please continue to pray for her. She is the daughter of Bobby and Stephanie Williams, of Racine; the granddaughter of Elaine Treadway and Keith Williams; and the great-granddaughter of Harlan and Carolyn Treadway, of Ashford.

TRAVELLING/VISITING

Kermit and Rose Harless, of Nellis, recently spent a few days camping along the Williams River in Webster County.

Mark, Ronda and Brody Thompson, of Goodlettesville, Tenn., visited family members and friends in our area last weekend.
