Bank official Emma Byrnside, told McClung that an unknown person, later identified as Leon Walker II, had passed a stolen check in the bank’s drive thru window and tellers had him on tape. The trooper then learned that the check had been stolen from the main office of Brody Mine, located at Bim.
The report alleges that Walker cashed the $917.13 check by forging the name of the person it was issued on the back of the check. Officials from Lightning Contractors, who issued the check, identified the man in the videotape as their former employee, Leon Walker, II.
On Nov. 26, Walker was charged with forgery and uttering, which are both felony charges and arraigned before Boone County Magistrate Chuck Byrnside before being released on bond, according to court documents.
