Denzil Dale “DEE” Holstein

Denzil Dale “DEE” Holstein, 68, of Danville passed away Dec. 20, 2011 after a short battle with cancer at home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born Nov. 12, 1943 in Fayette Co.

He is the son of the late Guy Holstein & Mamie Holstein (Kerns) and the step son of the late Ralph Kerns.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Melvin Holstein Sr., son Edward Holstein and stepson Elsie Perdue.

Surviving him is his companion and love of his life for 26 years, Diana Perdue. His special daughters Tresa (Wendy) Neims , Michelle Holstein, Velva Holstein and special son George Perdue. Brother Robert Holstein (Annette) sisters Hazel Kirtley (Harry)- Carol Purcell (Allen), VAda Frailey (Edward), Mida Workman (Dean), Sister-in-law Sue Ann Holstein Gwinn, step brothers Roger Kerns, Ralph Kerns Jr. (Sherry), stepsisters Edith Hill, Linda Christian (Ricky) Debbie Huffman (Terry) also survived by numerous grandchildren, special grandchildren, Nikki “Smurf” Holstein and Dustin “Orphan” Eldridge and serveral great grandchildren, special friends Tony and Teresa Fankhauser. A special thanks goes to Dr. Howard Lafferty.

Denzil loved and was loved by so many people. He will be sadly missed. He will be spending his Christmas with his family in Heaven.

At his request his body will be creamed. A memorial service will be at a later date.

Henrietta “Cricket” Murphy

Henrietta “Cricket” Murphy of Turtle Creek, formerly of Rosenhayn, NJ, passed away January 7, 2012, after a short battle with lung cancer.

She was a foster grandparent for Ramage and Brookeview Elementary. She loved working with children within the schools of Boone County. She was also involved with Headstart of Boone County. She was a firefighter and an EMT.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Murphy I; children, Shelley Reed of WV, Kimberly Suthard of NJ and Bruce Murphy II of NJ and an adopted daughter, Sierra Murphy at home; brother, Richard Seward and family of NJ; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
