Some Madison Elementary School students enjoyed themselves on their recent field trip, according to teachers.


The students went to the Danville Volunteer Fire Department and the West Madison Park on Friday, April 20, 2012.


The students watched a video about fire safety and the volunteer firefighters showed the students the equipment they wear on a daily basis to fight fires. The students got to observe the inside of a fire truck and hold the water hose, while water was spraying out.


The teacher was Shelia Perry and the teacher aides were Brenda Lovejoy and Karen Mooney. The bus driver was Sandy Halstead. Students attending were Sean Cash, Wade Halstead, Natalie Jones, Kloe Maynard, Kamrin Mullins, Kaleb Perdue and Elijah Scites. Parents attending were Gary Cash, Joetta Halstead, Candy Marcum, Marie Maynard, Mr. Mullins and son.
