Betty Sue Porter, 65, of Danville went home to be with the Lord May 16, 2012 at her home.


She was born March 11, 1947 and was a daughter of the late Van Don and Elizabeth Slade Lambert. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jewel L. Carte; brothers, Joe W. Lambert and Donald Ray Lambert; and nephew, Timothy Wayne Lambert.


She was a WV DHHR Child Advocacy Team Leader and retired after 20 years of service. She loved to cook and sing. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Danville.


She is survived by her loving husband Harold of 39 years; sons, Jon and Darleen Porter of Logan and Matt and Bethany of Charleston; grandchildren, Nash and Darby; brother, William “Bill” Lambert of Hurricane; and sisters, Evelyn L. Cornell of Cross Lanes and Ruth L. and Jim Wright of Charleston.


At her request, her body was donated to the WVU Human Gift Registry, Morgantown to help with the continuation of medical research.


A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Bible Baptist Church, Danville with Pastor John Barker officiating.


In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Relay for Life/Boone County, 1700 MacCorkle Avenue S.E. 3rd Floor, Charleston, WV 25314.
