Gary Ray Kinder

Mr. Gary Ray Kinder, 65, of Hunters Branch Road, Danville, WV went home to be with the Lord on June 9, 2012 at Boone Memorial Hospital at Madison, WV. Gary was born on February 17, 1947 in Bloomingrose, WV the son of Ileen Jackson Kinder of Lexington, KY and the late Seth Kinder.
He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict, a retired school bus driver from Boone County Board of Education, a member and lead guitar player at Jarrells Valley Community Church. Gary was a loving and devoted Father, Husband, Son, Brother, Grandfather, and Uncle who always put others first. He was a dedicated Christian who diligently served his Savior and Church. Gary’s favorite hobbies included cooking one of a kind dishes to share with others, playing his guitars, hunting and fishing with family and friends, playing gospel music, vacationing with his family, and discussing his favorite bible scriptures. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter- Leigh Anne Kinder-Parsons, brother-in-law- Terry Powell, and his niece Tiffany Powell-McKinney.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his loving wife and soulmate of 32 years Lena Mae McCormick-Kinder of Hunters Branch, WV, Son-Travis (Suzana) Kinder of Madison, WV, Daughters- Bethany Kinder of Hunters Branch, WV, and Carmen (Billy) Grimm of Lexington, KY, Granddaughters- Carleigh Thompson, and Kelsey Hinson of Bloomingrose, WV, Sisters- Penny (Roger) Gogus, Kay (Ricky) Linville of Bloomingrose, WV, Sister-in-Laws- Linda (Tommy) Parsons and Brenda Powell of Hunters Branch, WV, Mary (Dan) Thomas of Robinson, WV and his nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Gary will be deeply missed by his family, friends, band mates, and his Jarrells Valley Church Family.
Services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. June 14, 2012 at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV with Pastor Ronnie L. Gibson and Pastor Roger Gogus officiating. Burial will follow at the Mechanics and Miners Cemetery at Bloomingrose, WV.
Friends may call from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
