The Sherman High School Class of 1960 held a successful picnic at the Racine Fire Department August 11. It was coordinated with Doug Atkinson’s ingenuity and his wife, Alice’s, efficiency. Doug submitted Larry Snodgrass’ name to cater our dinner and Larry served a delicious meal from his unique table arrangement

Rosalind Stone Chapman initiated the idea of a class picnic in 2012 at our 2010 reunion.

Rosalind constructed a very creative invitation and willingly mailed it out to more than 75 classmates.

The driving force from Jean Kay Halstead Garretson with her phone calls and e-mails, proves that persistence pays. Thirty five class mates arrived, some with their spouses, and several under graduates were welcomed from 1961-63.

When all of the reservations were returned to Glenna Graley Loftus, there were classmates from MO., CT, MD, Ohio, FL, VA and WV.

All the class mates seemed happy and pleased to be together again for a short time. Each left with a small token of friendship and were wished good health and hope to see you again in 2015.

Thanks to Larry Snodgrass for the variety of delicious food that he served. It was enjoyed by all.
