The Madison Rotary Club was pleased to welcome Lisa Dooley, executive director of the Municipal League of West Virginia, to their August 30 meeting. The Municipal League works with cities and towns throughout the state to help local governments become more efficient and more effective in their desire to improve city services. Among the many programs and projects the Municipal League is involved in, Dooley talked about the Home Rule Pilot Project that lets the 232 cities and towns across West Virginia decide their own destiny by giving city governments more power in decision making. Dooley was the guest of Rotarian Dr. ‘Kip’ Howell. In photo, from left, are Rotarian Randy Foxx, City of Madison recorder; ‘Kip” Howell; Dooley; and Rotarian/Madison Mayor ‘Sonny’ Howell.
