The West Virginia State Board of Medicine is actively investigating the doctor and revoked his license to practice medicine in the state of West Virginia this past month after allegations surfaced of unethical and unprofessional conduct.
The state board then turned around and granted a stay that will allow Guo to practice as an anesthesiologist under several conditions, according to initial reports.
Other allegations against Guo indicate the doctor was in the habit of inappropriately prescribing drugs
One condition stipulated by the board of medicine is that Guo can no longer prescribe controlled substances until Sept. 2010. This decision came on the heels of a 2008 complaint received by the board alleging that Dr. Guo was inappropriately prescribing drugs.
The medical board indicated that Guo’s license can be permanently revoked if other misconduct is discovered. The medical board referred to the alleged actions as "dishonorable" and “unethical.”
The Coal Valley News was unable to reach Dr. Guo for comment.
