Staff Reports

A couple of weeks ago, Joshua Nelson, Local house of delegates candidate and coal miner, along with Dennis Adkins and Roger Horton of citizens for coal was requested to have a meeting with staff of the American Energy Alliance as they drove their “Tour Van” through Boone County. American Energy Alliance is a group dedicated to bringing American Energy Independence to the United States, and tours America educating people on the benefits of American Energy and the jobs it creates. During the interview they asked several questions to each of the board members of Citizens for Coal, as well as Joshua Nelson. Nelson said that “Boone County has taken a real hit with this War on Coal. Our jobs are leaving left and right. Natural gas is to blame for a very small amount of this is the major issue is a political issue. You have law makers making policy that is bad for business and bad for our workers, you are going to see jobs being lost everywhere if something does not change. If we do not get a person in office who have worked these jobs and understands them, we are going to continue to get the same results.” Dennis Adkins said “I am scared of losing my pension. With Patriot coal going into bankruptcy we all are. But Josh, Roger, and I are dedicated to fighting to make sure that does not happen. We are going to win this War on Coal.” American Energy Alliance has been blogging about Citizens for Coal and Joshua Nelson and taking that message on tour with them all over the country.
