MADISON — A Madison man is headed to prison following his sentencing last month.

Joey David Green, 36, was sentenced in Boone County Circuit Court to 10 years in prison for First Degree Robbery and 1 to 10 years for Daytime Burglary.

In July 2011, Deputy M. D. Foster responded to a report of a burglary in the Quinland area of Boone County. Upon arrival, Deputy Foster found that several items had been removed from the home and that the suspect entered through a rear window. A further investigation into the matter led Foster to Green. After questioning, Green led Foster to the stolen items and confessed to the burglary.

In August 2011, Deputy D. J. Cottrell responded to the Quinland area of Boone County for a home invasion. Upon his arrival, Deputy Cottrell spoke with a man who told Cottrell that another man had broken into his residence and began beating him while a second man stood on the porch. The men ultimately stole medication from the home. Later, Deputy Cottrell was able to identify Green as the second man on the porch of the home. Green was later arrested for his role in the robbery.

At sentencing in Circuit Court, Green was ordered to prison for up to 10 years.
