Hazel has resided at Boone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center since 2006 on the advice of her doctor. To celebrate her birthday, her family and nursing home staff joined together to host a party in her honor, which was held in the dining room of the facility. Those in attendance were not only her family, facility staff, pastor and the friends made since being admitted to the nursing home, but also her friends that she has gotten to know through the Christian Motorcycle Association. Hazel enjoys participating in the Annual Thunder on the Hill motorcycle cruise in which is hosted by the facility each May. Hazel participated in her first motorcycle ride at the age of 100. She has ridden each May since and cannot wait until this May so she can ride again.
