Can you say “Wow?” That’s what we said in relation to the turnout at our special St. Patrick’s Day Bingo Night in March! We were amazed at how many community members came out to support us and we hope you had a wonderful evening, just as we did. Special recognition must be given to the Boone County Commission and Black Diamonds Arbors for allowing use of the Lick Creek Nutritional Center and equipment, as well as event organizers, volunteers, and donors. The positive remarks at the end of the evening were overwhelming and we are ecstatic to provide a family event that is so well-received in the community.

Because of this wonderful feedback, we will continue providing our community with Bingo Nights. However due to scheduling conflicts, the Jaycees will forgo having a Bingo Night in April and will resume the event in May. An exact date and time will be announced later this month.

Moving forward into a tremendously busy April, we will be attending Eastern Institute, a regional United States Junior Chamber meeting, in Wheeling as well as supporting our fellow Ohio Valley Jaycees at one of their annual Steak Fry evenings. We will also be hosting a 50s-inspired Spring Fling Dance on April 6 for residents of Black Diamond Arbors. Period dress and costumes are encouraged!

Less than a month away, we are also busy with our Zumbathon on Saturday, April 27. The Zumbathon will be at the Madison Civic Center from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with all proceeds supporting the Madison-Danville Jaycees Team of Relay For Life of Boone County. Advanced registration is $15, includes a free t-shirt, and is available until April 13. After this date, registration increases to $20. If you would like more information on the Zumbathon or to register, visit JayceesZumbathon.eventbrite.com or call Stacie at 304-542-3120.

The Madison-Danville Jaycees welcomes new members and continually encourages the public’s input on community projects. General membership meetings are open to the public and are on the first and third Monday of the month. Meetings begin at 7:00p.m. and are located at our Clubhouse, Room 202 in the Danville Community Center. For more information, you may contact chapter president Sara Price at 304-784-4259, email us at MDJayceesWV@gmail.com, or visit us online at Facebook.com/MadisonDanvilleJaycees or MDJayceesWV.webs.com.
