The report said Thompson turned and ran into the back of his house, with the Trooper chasing him. The chase ended at a desk where the man showed Sutphin a “large bag of marijuana, along with bags of seeds in plastic baggies.” The man also had a bag filled with $1,108 in currency that he admitted was earned from the sale of illegal drugs. In his complaint, Sutphin said the man admitted to selling marijuana.
Last week Thompson admitted to the felony count of delivery of a controlled substance. In exchange, prosecutors agreed to ask for the dismissal of the remaining counts of his 2008 indictment. When Thompson returns later this month for sentencing he faces a possible term of incarceration of 1-5 years and up to a $15,000 fine.
