A Low Gap man who showed a police officer the marijuana he was allegedly smoking has agreed to plead guilty to a single felony count. According to a criminal complaint filed in Boone County Magistrate Court, Cpl. C.R. Sutphin was called to the home of Gregory Thompson, 42, to investigate reports of drug use. Sutphin’s report said that he approached Thompson and asked him if he was smoking marijuana, as the trooper believed he could smell it.

The report said Thompson turned and ran into the back of his house, with the Trooper chasing him. The chase ended at a desk where the man showed Sutphin a “large bag of marijuana, along with bags of seeds in plastic baggies.” The man also had a bag filled with $1,108 in currency that he admitted was earned from the sale of illegal drugs. In his complaint, Sutphin said the man admitted to selling marijuana.

Last week Thompson admitted to the felony count of delivery of a controlled substance. In exchange, prosecutors agreed to ask for the dismissal of the remaining counts of his 2008 indictment. When Thompson returns later this month for sentencing he faces a possible term of incarceration of 1-5 years and up to a $15,000 fine.

HAHAHA.. This is hilarious! I know this guy and he DEFINATELY sells drugs out of his house. So, this didn't really surprise me when I read it. I'm surprised he hasn't already went to jail before this incident. Oh well, one less drug dealer in Boone Co... Now only if the rest of them would get locked up, we would be in good shape!
