Brooksan Kay Huffman, 22, and Jeremy Darrell Workman, 28, both of Racine, were arrested on charges of operating a methamphetamines lab and conspiracy, according to a criminal complaint filed in the Magistrate Court of Boone County.
According to the complaint, Workman allegedly confessed that he and his girlfriend, Brooksan Huffman, were operating a meth lab at his residence on Mill Branch Road, on Rt. 94 at Racine.
On April 18, Cpl. J.A. Weagel, of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, along with Chief C. Barker, followed up on an anonymous tip that Workman was operating the hidden meth lab, according to court documents.
When the officers arrived at Workman’s residence, they were greeted at the front door by Workman and Huffman, who gave consent for the police to search their home, according to the complaint.
The complaint states that once inside the residence both Barker and Weagle begin to recognize multiple articles and evidence associated with the operations of a clandestine lab.
Officers escorted Huffman and Workman outside, where they were read their Miranda rights, after which Workman confessed to having operated the meth lab on at least five occasions during the last three months, according to the complaint.
Huffman and Workman are each being held at the Southwestern Regional Jail on a $100,000 surety, or $10,000 cash bail, according to court documents.
If indicted on the charges and found guilty, they face up to 15 years in prison and/or fined up to $35,000, according to court documents.
