Toby J. Carr, of Wilkinson, has penned a book that his peers can enjoy. The 11-year-old author wrote a children’s book, The Little Star, that tells the story of the tiny celestial body chosen for a very big task in God’s plan.
The Little Star tells the nativity story and teaches children about trusting that, like the Little Star, they have great purpose in life.
Also penning an inspirational children’s book, 42-year old Mary Phillips, who recently retired as a registered nurse, decided to try her hand at writing.
Her book, Children’s Sermons with Humor: By the Hilarious Miss Pollly. tells the story of a humorous hillbilly lady who loves the Lord. She makes people realize that it can be fun to learn about God and engage in laughter as they learn Bible principles.
Each lesson in the book contains a scripture and a biblical message interwoven with humor.
The Little Star is published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available at any bookstore nationwide or can be ordered through the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore or by visiting barnewsandnoble.com, amazone.com or target.com.
