Shelly Christine Moore, 32, of Danville, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding after she allegedly attempted to run a man over with a van, according to a criminal complaint filed in the Magistrate Court of Boone County.

According to the complaint, Deputy J.R. Dalton, of the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, took a complaint from a male victim, who stated that around 1:45 a.m. on Friday morning he and Moore was talking in the Turtle Mart parking lot located at Turtle Creek when Moore began to scream at him.

At this time, the male victim attempted to get out of the van, when Moore allegedly ran over him, dragging him approximately 50 feet, according to the complaint.

When the man was able to fall fee, Moore then allegedly tried to back over him again, according to the man’s statement.

The man was treated at Boone Memorial Hospital for his injuries and Moore is currently being held at the Southwestern Regional Jail on a $30,000 surety, or $3,000 cash bail.

If indicted and found guilty of the charges, she could face 2 to 10 years in jail.
