He was born at Gordon, on Jan. 19, 1931 a son of the late Ira and Kathrine Davenport Muncy.
His survivors include his wife, Mary Muncy of Seth: three daughters: Joann Selby and husband, James of Summersville; Nora McNeeley, and husband, Jackie of Somerset, Ky.; and Stephanie Donohue and husband, Eric of Seth; three sons: Bobby Muncy and his wife, Karla of Van; John Muncy of Seth; and Steven Muncy and wife, Robin of Seth; one half sister: Brenda Hubbard of Seth; 10 grandchildren: Acie Merritt Jr., Robert Lee Muncy, Mary Selby, Shaina McNeely, Bobbi Jo Muncy, David Chapman, Billy Muncy, Ashley Chapman, Brandy McNeely, and Cody Muncy; seven great-grandchildren; Devon Merritt, Shaylee Merritt, Allie Williams, Cee Cee Turner, Zachary Gunnoe, Isaiah Merritt, and Steven Muncy (Lil Bucka Roo).
Funeral services were held on April 27 at Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, with pastor Phil Rowe officiating. Burial followed at Pineview Cemetery at Orgas with graveside rites by VFW Post 5578, Madison.
