Coal Festival planning meeting set

All persons interested in helping with the 16th annual West Virginia Coal Festival area invited to a special planning meeting at 5 p.m. Monday, May 18 at the Coal Heritage Museum, in downtown Madison.

The 2009 Festival will be held June 16 – June 20 in Madison and will include local and national entertainers, mine machinery displays and a miners memorial service.

There will also be the annual beauty pageants, gospel music, fireworks, carnival food vendors, art and crafts and a special West Virginia Day celebration on June 20.

Heading the entertainment lineup will be The Diamonds, on June 18. Confederate Railroad on June 19, and Billy Joe Royal, on June 20.
