According to the complaint, on April 12, Adkins was allegedly pulled over as he was driving a vehicle southbound on U.S. 119, during a road patrol.
Trooper S. M. Boyles, noticed Adkins’ vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed down Mud River Road, then pull into a private drive when Adkins noticed the patrol stop, according to the complaint.
Officer Boyles approached the vehicle and driver, soon learning through the Boone County 911 that Adkins’s drivers license had been revoked for a DUI, according to the complaint.
According to court documents, Adkins has two prior convictions for driving on a revoked license for DUI dated July 23, 2006, and August 1, 2008.
Adkins allegedly told the officer that there was no valid insurance on the vehicle, and officers observed the back windshield was completely broken out and the registration plate affixed to the vehicle was improper, according to the complaint.
Adkins was released on a $12,000 surety, or $1,200 cash bail. If indicted and found guilty of the crimes, he could face up to 3 years in jail and a fine up to $5,000, or both, according to court documents.
