Shawn Wythe Omeara, 25, of Beckley, was arrested on charges of burglary, according to a criminal complaint filed in the Magistrate Court of Boone County.

According to the complaint, Cpl. J.A. Weagel, of the Boone County’s Sheriff’s Office, responded to a call of a burglary in progress in the Keith area of Boone County.

The officer observed broken glass from a window on the back side of the trailer and was advised by a neighbor that the burglar was still inside the residence, according to the complaint.

Once inside the trailer, Officer Weagel discovered Omeara hiding under some clothes in a closet, according to the complaint.

Omeara was transported to the Sheriff’s department, where he was booked on charges of nighttime burglary. If indicted and found guilty of the charges, Omeara could face up to 10 years in prison.

Omeara was released on a $50,000 surety, or $5,000 cash bail.
