Martin L. England, 59, of Dry Creek in Raleigh County, died as a result of injuries he received after being involved in a traffic crash July 15.
The accident occurred at
approximately 6:30 p.m., on W.Va. 3, near Comfort.
England was the only person inside his vehicle, a Dodge pickup truck, at the time of the crash. The second car, a Chrysler PT Cruiser, was driven by Rebecca Workman, 33, of Seth.
Investigators believe that at the time of the crash, Workman failed to control the vehicle and traveled across and into the westbound lane of the road, hitting England.
The road was shut down for an extended period while fire department and rescue workers cut the victims from the wreckage and investigators conducted a scene investigation.
Workman, and passenger Gary Jarrell, 38, of Seth, both were
transported to the Charleston Area Medical Center with injuries.
Investigators say several factors require further examination and believe that drugs or alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
Charges could be filed in the death once necessary evidence is
developed and investigators were expected to return to the scene with accident reconstructionists on Friday, according to officials.
The investigation of the crash is continuing by the Boone County Sheriff's Department and the lead investigator is Deputy D.W. Sutphin.
