A single-vehicle accident resulted in one man being transferred to CAMC by healthnet.

The single-vehicle accident was reported to the Boone County Emergency 911 Center Monday morning, according to Greg Lay, Director of the Boone County Emergency Management Offices at Danville.

The accident occurred at the DOH garage intersection on U.S. 119, near Rock Creek, according to emergency responders.

“Preliminary indicators suggest that the vehicle had pulled through the construction work area and into south-bound traffic,” Lay said.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash.

Emergency responders proceeded from the car accident to a report of the smell of smoke at the Boone County Courthouse.

“Electricians were brought in and we believe that the smell of smoke came from a light ballast in the law library,” Lay said.

The law library is located on the third floor of the Boone County Courthouse.

“They found the cause of the concern real fast and so there was no need to evacuate the courthouse. It wasn’t smoke so much as an odor, or electrical burning,” said Boone County Circuit Clerk Sue Ann Zickefoose.
