Turtle Creek man admits to burglary in courtroom

A Turtle Creek resident faces a possible prison sentence after admitting to a 2008 crime.

According to documents filed in Boone County Circuit Court, Franklin Wade Eldridge, 29, of breaking into the home of Melissa Moore on July 30, 2008. The document said Eldridge stole a plethora of items from the Moore home including tools, jewelry, silverware and home entertainment gear.

Law enforcement said Eldridge also broke into at least one

outbuilding on the property. An accounting of the stolen items totaled $2,417.67

Last week, Eldridge was back in circuit court, facing Judge Will Thompson. The defendant entered one guilty plea to a single count of burglary. In exchange for his plea, the Boone County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office agreeing to dismiss the second count and they also pledged not to file a recidivist information in court.

When Eldridge returns to court next month, he faces a possible prison term of 1-10 years in custody.
