A Bim woman was arrested last week in connection with a Pond Fork area burglary.

Amanda Sue Cook was taken into custody last week by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department after being identified by investigators.

A complaint filed in the office of Magistrate C. Porter Snodgrass outlined the allegations against Amanda Sue Cook. Deputy Mike Foster charged that on Sept. 19, Cook entered the home of Bobby and Brittany Dixon, of Marthatown, and stole five firearms from a basement gun safe.

Foster said he was able to recover all the stolen firearms. The report noted that Cook was able to enter the home due to the homeowners giving her a key in case of emergencies. "This officer also received a statement from Brittany Dixon that said the defendant had called her and admitted to the crime," the statement noted.

Cook will be available for future court hearings due to the fact that Magistrate Snodgrass sentenced her to 30 days in jail on a separate offense.
