Until Dec. 11, both Foodland and Elkins Auto Parts of Boone County, will be collecting toys for the Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578.

The toys will be distributed to area families who participte in the annual VFW Food Drive.

Lara Elkins, of Elkins Auto, says that they are requesting people drop off their toy to either the Elkins Auto parts store, or Foodland.

The toys should be new toys, unwrapped and can be a toy appropriate for either a boy or a girl.

“They don’t have to be expensive,” Elkins says.

Elkins Auto will be accepting donated toys during their normal hours of operation, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon.

“Also, if someone lives locally and has a lot of toys to give, we can come and get them,” Elkins says.
