On Tuesday morning, emergency responders in Boone County were kept busy responding to reports of single-vehicle accidents in the Gordon area, along Rt. 26.
“The first accident, a car ended up on its side; the second accident the SUV went into the creek and ended up on its top, and the third accident a car crashed into a fence,” Greg Lay, director of emergency 911 services, said.
“No passengers were injured during those accidents,” Lay said, though he said a call was received around 2 a.m.Tuesday morning that a woman and second passenger was entrapped in a vehicle near Rock Creek, at Foster.
In this instance, injuries were reported and both occupants of the vehicle were flown to CAMC by HealthNet.
According to Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the investigating agency, the car had careened over the embankment where Newport meets Rt.3.
“One of the reasons they flew them out was exposure problems,” Lay said, further stating that it was believed the vehicle had wrecked and been sitting in the ravine for several hours prior to being spotted by other motorists.
