State Police, Madison Detachment made three
arrests after they discovered a clandestine meth lab in operation along Little Horse Creek Road in Julian.
Officers were led to the location of the lab as
they followed up on an anonymous tip.
Trooper M.L. Vance and other members of the
West Virginia State Police Madison Detachment
went to the residence and could smell a strong
chemical odor protruding from the residence,
according to the criminal complaint filed in the Magistrate Court.
“Throughout the course of this investigation,
these officers discovered methamphetamine had
been cooked at the residence approximately one
hour prior to these officers arrival,” court documents state.
Officers claim to have discovered several ingredients and tools inside the residence used to manufacture the methamphetamine.
“Jason Holley advised this officer that he along with the accused, Charity Whitcraft, and Jerry Scott Burdette had manufactured meth at his residence on this date,” Trooper Vance states in the complaint.
Holley, 35, is a resident of Julian; Burdette, 34, has a residence listed of South Charleston, and Whitcraft, 29, is a resident of Julian.
All three were arrested and charged with the
manufacturing of a controlled substance.
If indicted and found guilty of the charges, they could face up to 10 years in prison and a fine up to $25,000, according to court documents.
