LEXINGTON — A memorial service for Heather Michelle Meade, 19, was held at noon on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at Calvary Chapel Lexington.

Heather was born March 13, 1990, in Logan, W.Va., and passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010. She was the daughter of Charles and Regina Meade. Heather was a student at Coastal Carolina University.
Heather is survived by her parents, and brother, C.J. Meade, all of Lexington; paternal
grandparents, John and Darlene Hager of Madison; maternal grandparents, Ed and Tina Blankenship of Logan; and
special friend, Casey Sargent of Lexington.
James “Buck” Bias
James “Buck” Bias, 83, of Rock Creek, near Danville, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at his home following complications relating to a short illness.
Born July 26, 1926, in Logan County, he was the son of the late James B. Bias Sr. and Emmer Nelson Bias. Buck was also
preceded in death by brothers, Don, Ray, Staats and Mansfield Bias.
Buck was retired from Westmoreland Coal Company, where he worked for 33 years until he retired in 1984. He was a
member of the UMWA, a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific, and a member of the IOOF in Madison for 52 years.
Survivors include his wife, Doris; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jim Mullins of Rock Creek; grandson, Josh Chaffin of Madison; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Elmer Scragg of Ottawa, Bonnie and Herman Miller of Clothier, Nina and Jim McClure of Spencer, Ohio, and Eleanor Wade of Grafton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Feb. 17 at Stevens Funeral Home, Madison, with the Rev. Pete Jarrell officiating. Burial followed at Family Memorial Gardens, near Madison.

Joann Hobbs
Joann Hobbs, 74, of Ethel, Logan County, died Friday,
Feb. 12, 2010 at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan.
Born Oct. 6, 1935, in Monongalia County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Menear and Beulah Waggoner. Mrs. Hobbs was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hobbs.
Survivors include her sons, Omer Howard Miller of Colorado, Larry Gene Miller of Ethel, and Clarence Junior Miller of Florida; daughters, Tina Ann Pack of Charleston, and Judy Cooper of Colorado; brothers, Richard Menear of Missouri, and Raymond Menear of Morgantown; sister, Ester Menear; six grandchildren and also great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Feb. 18 at Stevens Funeral Home, Madison, with Richard Menear officiating. Burial followed at the Miller Cemetery near Jeffrey.

Rebecca S. Cook of Naoma died Feb. 15, 2010.
Funeral services were held on Feb. 18 at Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville. Burial followed at Pineview Cemetery, Orgas.
Robert Malcolm McKinney
Robert Malcolm McKinney, 71, of Sylvester went home to be with the Lord Feb. 14, 2010, at home.
At Mr. McKinney request, there will be no services and he will be cremated.

Shirley Ann McCallister
Shirley Ann McCallister, 66, of Ridgeview, Boone County, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010.
Funeral services were held on Feb. 21 at Stevens Funeral Home, Madison, with the Rev. Melvin Estep officiating. Burial followed at Pineview Cemetery, Orgas.
