Howard Williamson, 49, of Clothier, appeared before Magistrate Chuck Byrnside on arrest charges that stemmed from a February incident.

According to the criminal complaint filed in the Magistrate Court of Boone County, on Feb. 27, a verbal argument between Williamson and the victim, David Green, occurred at Lynn’s Halftime Saloon in Madison.

The verbal argument escalated to a physical altercation, resulting in severe internal organ damage and other injuries to Green, who required emergency surgery and hospitalization, according to the complaint.

Throughout the course of the investigation, Green provided officers with a written statement of the events and officers also spoke to witnesses to the crime, according to court documents.

Williamson was released on a $10,000 cash bail. If indicted of the charges and found guilty of the crime, Williamson could face up to 10 years in prison, according to court documents.
