I also said there use to be a show on television by the name “Let’s Make A Deal” and the host was Monty Hall. I saw that we have a show by the same name today.
Well this week I am go to be Monty Hall.
Now, I want to trade your old sinful life for what is behind Door Number One Door,” “Blessing Of Life,” Lord will you tell us what this means.
“That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made night by the blood of Christ. For he is our peach, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us” (Ephesians 2:12-14).
What was the status between the Jews and Gentiles (us) in God’s plan?
The Gentiles were without Christ, they had no promise of a Savior. They were not part of the nation of Israel; as a matter of fact in the Old Testament the laws put a great gulf between the Jews and the Gentiles (“us”). In other words, instead of being “the people of God,” we were Aliens. We were strangers, without any hope and without the true God. It doesn’t matter who you are Jew or Gentile; both who are unsaved are outside Christ and that means condemnation.
When Christ died on the cross at Calvary, He broke down the burrier that stood between God and us. The death of Jesus bridged that gap that was between God and us. By doing this, Jesus brought the “far off” Gentiles nigh (vs. 13). Jesus made peace between the sinner and God, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). Oh the blessings of Justification are God’s declaration that I am righteous in Christ. My account has been washed clean. I thank God I have peace. There was a time in my life I had no peace but now I have peace with God. Peace with God means that the sin question has been settled by the blood of Christ. God now is my Father, not my judge. I have been delivered from the penalty of Hell. It is a preserved life that is waiting for us. “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand” (John 10:28). We have eternal life, not just life “for as long we don’t sin. We are in the hands of Jesus and also in the hands of the Father, that is called double assurance of eternal preservation as His sheep. We are the Father’s gift to the Son, and the Father will not take back a gift.
Now, that is what is behind Door Number One.
Next week, we will see what is behind Door Number Two.
