We are more than half way through the month of October, and the winter months coming soon with the snow, ice and cold temperatures looming ahead.

Corey Bowles bagged six squirrels the first day of hunting season, and was back from his hunting trip before 8:30 a.m. Congratulations, Corey! He is the son of Sean and Donna Bowles of Emmons.

Recipe of the week:

Fresh Peach Crumble Pie

1 9-inch Pie crust, unbaked

3/4 cup Sugar

3 tbsp. Flour

5 cups Fresh peaches, peeled and sliced

1 1/2 tsp. Lemon juice

3 tbsp. Butter

1/4 cup Flour

1/3 cup Brown sugar

Mix together 1/4 cup sugar, 3 tbsp. flour, peaches and lemon juice. Pour into pie shell. Combine butter, flour and brown sugar until crumbly. Sprinkle over peaches. Bake at 400F degrees for 40 minutes or until bubbly and brown. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.

Geraldine Pelphrey of Nellis is now home from the hospital after having heart surgery. She is improving daily, but continue to pray for her.

Continued get well wishes and prayers for Roger Barker as he recuperates at home from injuries received in an auto accident a few weeks ago. I hear he made it to church services Sunday.

It’s good to hear Ronnie Massey of Seth returned to work this past week after being involved in an auto accident several weeks ago.
