Eric Stephen Hayes

MADISON — In total, 23 individuals were among the latest grand jury indictments returned by the Boone County Circuit Court.

Among those indicted was Eric Stephen Hayes, 40, who was charged with attempted murder in the first degree, malicious assault, wanton endangerment involving a firearm and prohibited person in possession of a firearm in what the indictment states as “unlawfully, feloniously, maliciously, willfully, deliberately and premeditatedly attempting to kill and slay” Hunter Gillispie.

Other indictments include:

  • Richard Atkins: One count of sexual abuse in the first-degree and one account of sexual abuse in the second-degree.
  • Robert Bennett: One count of grand larceny and one count of destruction of property.
  • Jeremy Phillip Burgess: One count of fleeing an officer in vehicle with reckless indifference, one count of obstructing an officer and one count of driving while license suspended.
  • Miranda Eve Cobb: One count of breaking and entering, one count of grand larceny and one count of conspiracy.
  • Elizabeth Jo Fry: One count of fleeing in a vehicle while driving under the influence, one count of driving while in an impaired state and one count of reckless driving.
  • Michael Christopher Gillispie: One count of driving under the influence — third or subsequent offense.
  • Joshua Gunnoe: One count of uttering and one count of conspiracy.
  • Matthew Scott Hawkins: One count of burglary, one count of grand larceny and one count of conspiracy.
  • Steve Matthew Henson: Two counts of possession of a stolen vehicle.
  • Luke Tyler Holstein: One count of fleeing from officer in vehicle with reckless indifference and obstructing an officer.
  • Donald Stewart May: One count of sexual assault in the first degree.
  • Danny Ray McNeely Jr.: One count of breaking and entering, one count of grand larceny and one count of conspiracy.
  • Shawn Edward Messer: One count of uttering and one count of conspiracy.
  • Adam Lee Mitchell: One count of breaking and entering, one count of grand larceny and one count of conspiracy.
  • Lysandrous Mullins, Jr.: One count of obtaining property for false pretenses and one count of conspiracy.
  • Chrisandera S. Sperry: One count of fraudulent schemes, one count of uttering and one count of conspiracy.
  • Joseph Lee Turner: One count of malicious assault and one count of wanton endangerment involving a firearm.
  • Luther Timothy Watts: One count of obtaining property by false pretenses and conspiracy.
  • Ashley Nichole Weekley: One count of burglary.
  • Bobbie Kay Williams: One count of fleeing from officer in a vehicle with reckless indifference and one count of driving while license revoked for driving under the influence — first offense.
  • Casie Lee Williams: One count of fraudulent schemes, one count of forgery, one count of uttering and one count of conspiracy.
  • Joseph Allen Williams: One count of burglary, one count of grand larceny and one count of conspiracy.

An indictment is a formal accusation made against a defendant in a criminal case. It does not indicate guilt or innocence.
