BOONE COUNTY – Boone County has its first confirmed case of COVID-19 as confirmed by the Boone County Health Department on Tuesday morning.
Administrator Julie Miller with the BCHD spoke to citizens via a Facebook Live broadcast at 9:45 a.m.
“We just want to announce that there is one case of COVID-19 in Boone County,” she said. “This just means that it is here. You need to stay and continue to be vigilant. Stay home and only go out if it is absolutely necessary. If you are going out to the grocery store stay six feet apart and don’t gather in crowds. Make sure you stay safe and wear a mask if you have a chronic lung disease that may make you immune-compromised. We have to be careful and we don’t want this to spread.”
The CVN will report more details as they become available.
