VAN — On Jan. 29, Christian Faith Academy in Van will join hundreds of students, educators, and families at an upbeat student showcase, one of West Virginia’s largest events for National School Choice Week 2020. The showcase will spotlight student talent, celebrate all of West Virginia’s K-12 education options, and raise positive awareness about families’ freedom to choose.
The student showcase will take place from 10 a.m. until noon at the Charleston Civic Center’s Little Theatre. The students of Christian Faith Academy are honored to lead the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem at the event.
The event is planned to coincide with the history-making celebration of School Choice Week 2020, which will feature more than 50,000 school choice events across all 50 states.
“Sometimes, our students feel like our legislators and community has forgotten them” Principal Melanie Harvey said in a news release. “Our school receives no public funding and our parents do not even receive tax credits for their students’ tuition. Celebrating school choice week reminds our students and their families that their education matters and that they are not alone.”
Christian Faith Academy has been serving families in Boone County since 1984.
As a nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort, National School Choice Week shines a positive spotlight on education options for students, families, and communities around the country. From Jan. 26 through Feb. 1, 2020, more than 50,000 independently planned events will be held in celebration of the National School Choice Week. For more information, visit www.schoolchoiceweek.com.
