MINERAL WELLS — The Danville Hawks Youth Football League traveled to Wood County on Oct. 6 to face the Mineral Wells Patriots.
The Hawks D-Team was able to notch their second win of the season by knocking off the Patriots 26-0. The Hawks D-Team improved to 2-5 on the season.
The Hawks C-Team soared to their sixth victory of the season as the Hawks won 30-8. The Hawks C-Team improves to 6-1 and once again regained sole possession of first place in the MSE Blue Conference.
The Hawks B-Team engaged in another close game this weekend. The Hawks scored a late touchdown to break a 6-6 tie and won the game 14-6. The Hawks’ B-Team’s record sits at 4-3 going into the final game of the regular season.
In the night cap, the Danville Hawks A-Team took the opening kickoff back for a touchdown and never looked back as they rolled to a 62-0 victory. The Hawks A-Team improved to 7-0 as they remain in sole possession of first place in the MSE Blue Conference and are the only unbeaten A-Team in the MSE.
On Oct. 13, the Hawks hosted the Winfield Generals at the Scott High School Athletic Complex. The Hawks also planned to honor their good friend and former WVU Great Quincy Wilson for his contributions to the Hawks and for his commitment as an ambassador for youth football. Those games were not complete by the CVN print deadline.
