MADISON - A man has been charged in relation to a July 14 automobile theft in Madison.
Carl Leslie Adkins III, 29, of Midkiff, was charged with grand larceny in relation to the incident.
According to a report prepared by Patrolman Trent Cook of the Madison Police Department, the vehicle was stolen from a residence on State Street in Madison. The victim stated that after having "a few people at her house" that her keys had been stolen from inside her home.
The victim stated that if Adkins and a female passenger had taken the vehicle, they may be headed toward Huntington.
The report states that a BOLO was issued for the vehicle in Boone, Logan, Kanawha, Putnam and Cabell counties.
On July 15, the victim presented a video that led to identification of Adkins and the female entering the car and leaving the residence.
On July 16, the car was recovered by West Virginia State Trooper G. Walter with Carl Leslie Adkins III in possession of it, according to Walter's report.
As of Coal Valley News print deadline, Adkins was held at the Southwestern Regional Jail on a $10,000 property/surety bond. He was also held for two separate cases in Lincoln County on a $20,000 surety/cash bond.
