COMFORT — A Joes Creek man has been charged with six counts of distribution and display to minor of obscene matter when law enforcement was made aware of photos he sent to a 10-year-old relative through Facebook Messenger.

Russell Lee Linville, 31, of 3927 Joes Creek, faces charges in relation to the incident.

In an incident report prepared by West Virginia State Police Trooper CM Riggleman on Nov. 7, the officer received a complaint that the minor had received numerous pornographic materials through the social media app.

The Trooper received screenshots of the conversation that the victim had with the alleged suspect, and the officer observed six photos, which led to six subsequent counts of the charge.

As of CVN print deadline, Linville was held at Southwestern Regional Jail on a $50,000 cash/surety bond.
