MADISON — Voters in Boone County showed overwhelming support for the Boone County Schools Excess Levy on Saturday as they have historically done since 1947.
After all precincts reported, 1,299 votes were cast for support of the levy and 243 against it.
Early bird voters punched 282 ballots, plus 21 absentee votes, with early voting concluding on Wednesday.
The continuation of the levy is projected to provide $5.6 million to the school system and will help provide a $2,000 supplement in pay for all employees, which assists in retaining quality educators, provides additional funding for instructional supplies, textbooks, school safety initiatives, building repair, capital improvements, investment in technology and support for free meals for all students in our county.
